  1. A few weeks ago, I took my first cooking class with Pooja. In her kitchen, my friend and I learned how to make butter paneer, vegetable korma and phulkas. The butter paneer was absolutely decadent! I’m a meat lover, but the vegetarian version of this well-known dish is so much better than the common chicken recipe. The flavours of the vegetable korma were so complex with its rich gravy. And what to say about the mouth-watering phulkas? I’ve always been apprehensive about making my own bread. But once you learn it the right way, it becomes so enjoyable! It was actually easier than I had anticipated! And what is better than warm homemade buttered bread?

I’ve always thought that preparing an Indian meal was a very difficult task to achieve. It would never taste nearly as good as the real thing. So what I thoroughly appreciated about the class is that Pooja is so eager to share her recipes and skills in the relax atmosphere of her own kitchen. With an open heart and a profound desire to teach the cooking tricks that have been passed down to her from her family, she proved to me that cooking proper Indian food is not nearly as hard or as unachievable as I had formerly thought. This cuisine is far more complex and diverse than the “OMG! It’s so spicy! My mouth is on fire!” type of dishes that we are sometimes served in restaurants. So I recommend this class to anyone who has a fear of cooking Indian food, who likes to discover new flavours, smells, ingredients, cooking tips, to cook in good company, and, most importantly, to make and to eat delicious FOOD! Can't wait for the next class!

  3. Thank you Pooja for a delightful class. Your preparation for the class, your thoughtfulness in a parting gift of spices, and your knowledgable and enthusiastic approach to cooking made your class a fantastic experience. Thank you for letting us into your loving home and kitchen. We hope to cook your recipes with the same sort of care and appreciation that you have for food. Definitely a great class for novice or experienced home chefs!

  4. The baby eggplant recipe looks divine! Can't wait to try this version of yours. Also, "thaipla" roti seems to be just the similar version of any "missi" roti of Punjab also made with chickpea flour. I am looking forward to our next meeting.

    Cheers,
